The Russian National Ballet Theatre was founded in Moscow in the late 1980s, when many of the great dancers and choreographers of the Soviet Union’s ballet institutions were exercising their new-found creative freedom. The principal dancers of the company came from the upper ranks of the great ballet companies and academies of Russia.
This esteemed Russian company brings to the stage one of the most magical and well-known works from the classical ballet repertoire. With choreography by Petipa and an unforgettable score by Tchaikovsky, it is easy to see why Swan Lake continues to earn the adoration of classical ballet enthusiasts.
Swan Lake is one of the most popular and beloved of all ballets. Presented by a vibrant company deeply dedicated to the timeless tradition of classical Russian ballet, this full-length fantasy ballet tells the story of a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse.
