The Haifa Symphony Orchestra of Israel, founded in 1950, makes its Bronx debut at the Lehman Center. The most significant musical institute in the north of Israel, the Haifa Symphony Orchestra of Israel features Israeli pianist Roman Rabinovich in the Tchaikovsky Piano concerto No.1. Conductor Bogusław Dawidow leads a program that includes Weber’s Overture to the opera Euryanthe and the powerful Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.
Internationally renowned for his musical knowledge, immense enthusiasm, and extraordinarily charismatic stage presence, Maestro Dawidow is also currently the Principal Guest Conductor of the Bogota Symphony Orchestra, and the General Music Director of Chopin Chamber Orchestra. The Israeli pianist Roman Rabinovitz was the top prize winner at the 2008 Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition and the 2007 Animato Competition.
