Technical Director

Full-time TECHNICAL DIRECTOR for 2310-seat Concert Hall at Lehman Center for the Performing Arts. Oversee backstage technical operations/equipment for world music/dance/theatre performances and rentals. Hire and supervise staff (Local One). Determine lighting/sound requirements. Oversee load-ins/set-ups/shows/strikes. Monitor expenses. Must be organized and adhere to safety rules. Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Theatre or related field with 3-4 years’ experience as Technical Director or in technical theatre OR Associates Degree with 5-7 years’ experience as Technical Director or in technical theatre. Strong knowledge and experience in all aspects of technical theatre, including lighting, sound, stage design, set construction, and capital project installations. Computer literacy. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with culturally-diverse groups. Weekend and evening hours as per event schedule. Director of Marketing

Lehman Center for Performing Arts seeks an experienced senior-level Director of Marketing to provide energetic, creative, strategic leadership in marketing and promoting the Center and its diverse program. Although The Director has a consultant status they will be a vital component of the senior management team, directing all of Lehman Center’s communication efforts, including marketing and promotion, media relations, public information, and audience development.
Lehman Center for the Performing Arts— the premier concert hall in the Bronx — boasts a 2300 seat, state-of-the-art concert hall and multi-disciplinary arts center. The diverse programming includes world class salsa and tropical music, headlining entertainers like Patti Labelle and Gladys Knight, world music and dance, and touring Broadway musical productions.

Responsibilities: The Director’s primary areas of responsibility are to spearhead the development and implementation of innovative, effective, multi-pronged marketing and sales efforts focusing on both short- and long-term goals; to successfully promote Lehman Center’s events regionally and to maximize revenues through paid admissions, ticket sales, media sponsorships, and other sources; and to sustain and expand Lehman Center’s various audiences.
